About

10 mildly interesting things about me:

  • I come from a small village (Vrboska, island Hvar). We’re talking about a population of 500 small. And I seem to be coming back to my hometown for inspiration with some of my most important projects (Canvas City, Tied Up).

  • As a kid, I went to all the extracurricular activities we had there, including joining the majorettes and playing handball. I wanted to play basketball, but there were no clubs. My dream was to become an astronaut when I grew up.

  • In the end, I wanted to be a lot of different things, so I became a storyteller.

  • I could never see myself becoming a professional musician, but I did always have music in my life one way or the other. I finished elementary music school playing the piano and sang in choirs (like Concordia Discors at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences) & bands. It’s how I met my husband.

  • While studying Business Economics, I spent a semester on Erasmus in Paris, France. One of the best 6 months of my life. I’m sure I was a Parisian in one of my past lives. There, I volunteered at the Shakespeare & Company bookshop and always wanted to go back as a Tumbleweed, but it never seemed to be a good time.

  • After getting my first Master’s Degree, I felt lost. The realization that writing and directing were my life’s purpose felt like the cartoony “lightbulb over your head” moment.

  • The sea makes me calm, it’s my meditation and I could spend hours swimming. Paradoxically, the only phobia I have is of sharks. Even though they’re extremely uncommon in our part of the Adriatic Sea. I blame watching “Jaws” one late night as a kid.

  • On the day of Zagreb’s biggest earthquake in the last 100 years – March 22nd, 2020 – I felt like I was gonna die, but I also got one of the best surprises. We adopted an abandoned puppy from the streets. Had it not been for the earthquake, we would probably never find him, since we stayed home during those early COVID days.

  • There were several situations in my life when I had freakishly accurate intuition about what’s gonna happen, even though I had no idea how. Sadly, I can’t control it, just hope it happens again.

  • Dreams have also been very vivid and I can remember them well all my life, and I often use them as writing inspo.
